Top 5 Lechon Manok Franchises in the Philippines

November 11, 2017 by Borgy 1 Comment

whole roasted chicken with vegetables

If a number of Pinoys would be asked to choose between Lechon Baboy or Lechon Manok, a lot of them will definitely pick the latter.

Compared to pork, roasted chicken is more flavorful and much healthier as well. However, chicken takes more time to prepare as the feather should be removed first. But on the contrary, chicken is easier and faster to cook rather than pork.

The usual Filipino family celebration will not complete if chicken will not be served.  Whether it’s fried chicken, roasted chicken, caldereta or afritada – it is what makes a Pinoy tummy happy and full.

As a matter of fact, many people decided to make a living through it which instantly became a hit. Now, if you are one of the aspiring entrepreneurs looking for a profitable business, the livestock industry might be the one you should go for!

Here are five of the chicken franchises you can avail:

Andok’s Litson Manok

Andok’s Liston Manok is one of the MVPs when it comes to the chicken industry. Their chicken is always present in every get-together, celebration and even on a simple family dinner. For some, having Andok’s chicken on the table means a working person in the family just received a good amount of compensation.

Andok’s Litson Manok was built from scratch by Sandy Javier. More than 25 years ago, Javier asked twelve whole chickens from his mother’s friend which he roasted and sold on the streets. Unfortunately, he was only able to sell two that day. Despite of it, Javier bravely stood up and decided to formulate a special combination of ingredients to create a delicious roasted chicken – which later on led to his road to success.

The company has two types of franchise: take-out and dine-in store. The franchise fee for the dine-in store is estimated as P500,000 and P300,000 for the take-out store, both of which doesn’t include the construction cost of the whole store.  Overall, a good amount of P800,000 to P1M should be prepared by a franchisee.

A disadvantage in franchising Andok’s Litson Manok is the poor interior design of some stores. But nonetheless, it is still profitable as the amount of the food products is competitive and affordable to ordinary citizens.

Baliwag Lechon Manok

A Baliwag Lechon Manok is one of the common sights everywhere as the company has built a lot of branches all over the Philippines. Just by mentioning the store’s name, the customer can already smell and taste their flavorful chicken. “Amoy pa lang, ulam na!”

Baliwag Lechon Manok originated back in 1980, which was established by a couple named Dwight and Dolores Salcedo who used P10,000 as their initial capital and opened up a kiosk. The name Baliwag is the place where Dolores was born, adding that the name itself is a reminder of noteworthy foods that represent the place. Meanwhile, the recipe was created by the couple through the help of Dolores’ cousin named Boy.

The cost of franchising ranges from P250,000.00 to P750,000.00, depending on the package that would be availed. The aforementioned amount will include equipment and technological installations, furniture and fixtures installations, signage and posters, licenses, permits, registration fees, trainee allowances, employee uniform, initial inventory of stocks, advance rental of the location, security deposit-lessor/mall, security deposit-franchisor.

Baliwag’s Lechon Manok is a bestseller which makes it a good idea to get a franchise from the company. However, the brand has a lot of strong competitors that might be hard to beat.

Ang Lechon Manok ni San Pedro

Ang Lechon Manok ni Sr. Pedro is famous for the sweet taste that captured the Filipinos’ love for chicken. Given its deliciousness, the customers are also fond of the roasted chicken they sell because of its low price, which can still guarantee the quality of the food.

Pedro Anakciano is the man behind Ang Lechon Manok ni San Pedro, who established his chicken business back in 1992 together with his brother who was a skilled cook. The siblings made the business successful which later on led to having a whooping 300 number of branches nationwide. Not to mention that they had also established their own company, Anakciano Inc., and their own farms where they breed good quality chickens.

Most of their branches are company-owned, but the owners have opened their doors to aspiring entrepreneurs who are hoping to franchise their own branch. Even though the franchising fee wasn’t disclosed to the public, rest assured that the company made the price more affordable to help those who are trying to make a living.

Ang Lechon Manok ni San Pedro may not always be everyone’s top choice, but the store can still compete with its other opponents especially if taste and price will be taken into consideration.

Manang’s Chicken

Manang’s Chicken may not probably ring a bell to everyone, but the store sells a to-die-for kind of chicken!

Manang’s Chicken was established in the early days because of the owner’s house helper who experimented with a special sauce that the visitors would always request for. The owner decided to venture into a business through Manang’s recipe, and even dedicated the store to the house helper herself. Just within a year after its opening, Manang’s Chicken already had 10 branches around Metro Manila as a proof that it is selling like hotcake.

To get a franchise from Manang’s Chicken, a franchise fee of P500,000.00 is necessary, having a total investment cost ranging from P4.5M to P6M with a contract valid for 7 years and half of the initial fee for the renewal.

Requirements for franchising:

  • Letter of Intent to Franchise
  • Franchise application form
  • Photos, map, and other details of proposed location

Store Requirements:

  • Store type: full store with dine-in
  • Minimum space: 60 to 150 sqm
  • Recommended site: Malls, or nearby
  • Target Area: Metro Manila and Provincial

Franchise Inclusions:

  • Trademark
  • Location assessment and evaluation
  • 2-weeks training
  • Marketing costs for pre-opening and opening
  • Operations Manual
  • 12 months of Red Book for Managers
  • 2 weeks of salary of opening team

The best advantage for franchising Manang’s Chicken is the fact that it doesn’t have a royalty fee. On the other hand, the drawback is its reputation as it isn’t well known yet.
